There is about 5 million literature in the fund of Azerbaijan National Library which has a rich book fund. Rare books and library museum department contains the most ancient books, first samples of Azerbaijan book culture – stone engravings, periodicals of the XIX century in nearly 20 languages around the world .
The following collections have been created in the library museum.
1. Books donated to the National Library by the nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev from his own library.
2. Well-designed publications of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
3. Ancient literature published in the early years of book publication in different languages.
4. Works of the Azerbaijani classics published with stone engraving method.

The most important parts of the national library are:

 Creation of facilities for digital access to documents, the conversion of book and non-book materials digitally in the reserve section of the "Books of Kazakhstan", rare books, manuscripts and manuscripts, works of music and notes, articles for the corner "Kazakhstan: Yesterday and Today". This section includes the Kazakh-Russian press in the last five years. Readers have unrestricted access to press and publications published in the last month.

- The National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan is the Trustee of the Monitoring Committee in the Education and Science Department of the Kazakh Republic. The National Library receives all copies of defended and certified theses and dissertations in Kazakhstan. Their copyright (theses and dissertations) is reserved for the authors of these works and is part of the important documents and scientific heritage of Kazakhstan. In this section, dissertations and other treatises of the doctorate held in 1992, as well as academic researches, and treatises of Kazakh scientists and scientists from the Commonwealth of Independent States, which belong to the pre-defense period (pre-defense), are also kept.

Treasures of rare books and manuscripts

The treasures of rare books and manuscripts section of the National Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan include handwritten and manuscripts related to the 19th-12th centuries. The repository maintains printed books in Kazakh, Russian, and Eastern and Western languages from the 16th century A.D. to the 1940s.

The treasures of such manuscripts include Kazakh-language books, Kazakh-language works in Arabic and Latin, Kazakh first publications, works in the eastern languages (Farsi, Arabic, Turkish, etc.), scholars and Orientalist treatises, old books, books printed in Europe, book collections in Korean Language as well as miniature books.

 The most important works of this treasure can be cited as follows:

The philosophy of Khajeh Ahmad Yosawi (17th and 19th centuries), Ferdowsi's Shahnameh (18th century), Nizami’s Khamseh (15th Century), Nawaee Poems (17th century), as well as works by Jamie, Rumi, Sa'di, Fozouli, and Hafez.

  Five manuscripts in the Turkish language, written by Khwaja Yosawi and Suleiman Bagherkhani (one of his students), have been registered on the UNESCO’s Memory of the  World (in 2003), the first Kazakh newspaper “Kazakh”, which was published in 1913-1918 in Ehrenberg, and also a copy of Ferdowsi's Shahnameh with the translation of Turkish Choghtay, registered in the Central Asia Regional Program.

The collection of manuscripts of the Holy Quran is one of the other treasures of the high cost of this repository:

 The Quran with the Kufic calligraphy of the 12th century (with specification: No. 385-L, 6.3 × 32 × 39.6 cm, Weight: 5400 Kilograms)

The Qur'an (18th century) with Arabic and Persian translations (L-521, 35 × 53 cm, Weight: 910 Kilograms)

Surahs of the Holy Quran that were distributed in the territory of Kazakhstan in the 15th-19th centuries.

More than 2,000 books have been compiled in the field of philosophy, religion, art history, history of literature, poetry, linguistics, geography, medicine, mathematics and astronomy. Valuable works by Eastern scholars with peculiar dictations, official documents, theology and Sufism literature are among the most expensive parts of this section of the library.

In Kazakh books, rare books such as the "Family Tree of Jerusalem" (written by Abdul Ghazy Bahador Khan, 1871), (poems of "The Abyss of Qunanbayev" (1909), (Kyrgyz Chronology) (written by Abra Altin Seryn, Kazan, 1899), (works of Chakhan Wali Khanf (1904), as well as works by the scholars of Karaf al-Din Shah, the first men, Yusuf Beyk Shaykh al-Islam, Olga Baik Bin Sable, Shadi Yagragraf, Molki Yumachikov, famous Yusuf Kapip, Maxine Kaltyayev, 8 Mohammad Jain Syrilin, Esfandiar Kapep, Tahir Jomar Tayyaf, Ahmed Baiturtsinov, Mukhjan, Jome Bif, Khalil Dost Mohammad F, Mijakib Governor, Yusuf Bik Yetmatov, the scholar, who has contributed to the development of Kazakhstan's literature and science and culture, are also kept.

 In this section, the works of the first authors of the world of Kazakstan-Mokhtar Ayyubov, Fatah Moghtenf, Gita Mesriff Ava, Kanish Satupayev, Alka Margulan are also protected.

Setting and monitoring the repository through the C-7MK-IBTM automatic system is done by installing the sensor on a computer monitor. Installing the computer program allows you to capture images at any time.
